At the Faraday Finder Laboratory, we seek to understand biological memory at all levels of the organization and arrive at general principles across cellular and organismal length scales. Recent efforts have been made in the understanding of hippocampal thermodynamics, in the elucidation of biological nucleation among other nucleation events and in likening chemical energies levels to electronic energies present in solid state memory devices. Using evolutionary principles, we seek to understand memory as a guided path for organisms experiencing natural selection.
